Cycling Australia members are passionate about cycling and their bicycles. Thus Cycling Australia has joined forces with mybikeREGO to provide the community to protect yourself and your cycling assets.

Cycling Australia bikeREGO provides cyclists with a way of ensuring they can be identified swiftly should they be involved in an accident and also reduces bike crime and increases the probability of having recovered stolen bikes returned to their rightful owners.

Just like you, we are passionate about cycling - we love to get on the open road, like commuting to work, getting our kids cycling on weekends and enjoying the outdoors. Cycling Australia has linked the broader cycling community via Cycling Australia bikeREGO with local, state and federal cycling clubs, State and Federal Police Authorities and the community at large in order to create a positive impact on reducing cycling related accidents and theft and to promote bicycle safety in Australia.

Bike Safety Facts are Quite Frightening

The facts about bike safety can be really scary if you think about it. Take a look at some of these facts:

• Road accidents cause an average of 35 fatalities and 9,000 injuries to cyclists in Australia annually
• 1 in 10 bike owners will have their bike stolen within 5 years of purchasing
• Less than5% of stolen bikes recovered by authorities are returned to their rightful owners due to not being able to identify them.

Our goal is to speed up the identification process when a cyclist is involved in an accident and to reduce bike theft by getting the maximum number of bikes registered, tagged and - if stolen - recovered and returned as quickly as possible. Partnered with the community as well as authorities, we are confident that we can make the cycling experience a safe and happy one.
